The award-winning Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra will present a rare performance, and the Northwest premiere of the Kansas City Suite, an epic work in ten movements written by saxophonist and composer Benny Carter.  Considered by many to be Carter's most important creation, Kansas City Suite was written in 1959 and originally recorded by the Count Basie Band, and includes a swinging mixture of shuffles, jazz ballads, blues, and more.
