Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) is committed to expanding the reach and impact of its performances by actively engaging students, teachers, families and community members in Education & Outreach programs throughout the year. Each season on its Main Stage, ECA presents Education Matinees for students ranging in ages from pre-K to high school. These performances connect to Washington State EALRs and Common Core State Standards, and provide students the invaluable opportunity to experience the arts live. In addition to performances for young people, ECA works with artists from its presented season to organize free Artist Residencies & Workshops in the schools and throughout the community. Through these programs, ECA strives to increase opportunities for people of all ages to experience and engage with professional performing artists.
This year, ECA launched a new Family Series, a presented program that includes the free, all-day event Kidstock!, as well as special performances geared towards children and families. The focus of the ECA Family Series is to engage children from a young age in diverse and exciting arts experiences. Through the summer, ECA also partners with local and national organizations to present Summer Arts Enrichment Camps for children ages 7-13.
