ECA Saturday Matinees
Saturday Matinees at ECA engage community members of all ages in diverse and exciting arts
experiences, through theatre, music and film!
Tickets to matinee performances are $10 per person, with complimentary tickets available upon request for babes-in-arms 18 months or younger. ECA’s annual family event Kidstock! is always free-of-charge.
Last season, ECA launched the Arts for Everyone Membership program. Families who qualify for Free and Reduced-Price Meal programs through the school district and low-income seniors are now eligible for $2 tickets to any of ECA’s Saturday Matinee performances.

Wizard of Oz (1939)

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, finding along the way a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion seeking courage.
The Magic of Kevin Spencer

Internationally-renowned illusionist Kevin Spencer returns to ECA with a new magic and illusion performance designed to be welcoming to children and families with autism or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities. ASL Interpretation will be provided.

We Banjo 3

One of the best live acts to come out of Ireland in recent years, the multi-award winning We Banjo 3 includes a 7-time all-Ireland fiddle champ, an all-Ireland champ on both fiddle and Bodhran, and a passionate lead vocalist. On both sides of the Atlantic, the word is out about this group – the new gold-standard of traditional Irish and American roots music.

Returning to ECA in 2017 are the Kamikaze Fireflies – a Los Angeles-based, two person vaudeville smack down recently featured on America’s Got Talent. Whether spinning gigantic metal cubes, juggling, stilt-walking, performing daring stunts, breathing fire, or breaking into contortionist backbends, their performances incite awe and laughter for the whole family.
Snow White (1916)

Before Walt Disney made his breakthrough with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, he saw a 1916 silent film of Snow White that inspired him to attempt the full-length 1937 movie that became his studio’s first blockbuster. The original version of Snow White (1916) will feature live musical accompaniment by local harpist Leslie McMichael, joined on the ECA stage by guest violist Barbara McMichael.
This film event is designed with the accessibility of individuals with memory loss as a priority, as part of ECA’s Dementia-Inclusive Series. All are welcome!
ASL Interpretation will be provided.
This performance is designed to be accessible to patrons of all ages with Autism or other disabilities that cause sensory sensitivities.
Babes-in-arms are welcome at ECA Family Series performances, and admission is free for children 18 months or younger. In order to remain in compliance with all applicable legal requirements, all patrons entering the theatre must have a valid ticket, regardless of age.
