Step into the world of Jane Austen with two immersive, educational workshops and a charming Mini Soirée, all leading up to a performance of Impro Theatre’s Jane Austen Unscripted at Edmonds Center for the Arts.

Presented in collaboration Costumers of Color and the Washington Regency Society, the workshops are designed to introduce you to Regency-era fashion, crafts, and social pastimes.

Free with registration. No prior experience is required! Tickets to the Jane Austen Unscripted performance must be purchased separately. Participants are also encouraged to attend Impro Theatre’s Improv Class and the Pre-Show Talk!

Workshop 1: Bridgerton on a Budget

10:00 AM–12:00 PM

Learn the basics of Regency fashion and silhouettes, with a focus on creating historically inspired looks without breaking the bank. This workshop will be followed by a Make Your Own Fichu session, where you’ll learn basic hand-sewing skills and begin creating your own Regency accessory. All resources and materials will be provided. You’ll take your project home to finish and bring it back for the next workshop.

Workshop 2: Games Galore!

Dive further into the 18th century with an introduction to Regency-era tabletop games, followed by a mini embroidery class to decorate and personalize your fichu.

Workshop 3: Costumers of Color Mini Soirée

3:30-5:00 PM

Celebrate all you’ve learned at a delightful Regency Mini Soirée before attending Impro Theatre’s Jane Austen Unscripted. Guests are highly encouraged to come dressed in Regency-inspired attire.  Enjoy English country dance lessons, tea, light snacks, and period games.
