International Guitar Night is the world’s premier touring guitar festival, each show bringing together the most interesting and innovative acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, this year’s IGN features all-time favorite Lulo Reinhardt alongside Alexandra Whittingham, Niwel Tsumbu, and Sonke Meinen. 

The evening will also feature a free pre-show talk with early music scholar August Denhard in conversation with the musicians of International Guitar Night. The pre-show talk will begin at 6:00pm. Lulo Reinhardt |
Lulo Reinhardt, hailing from the renowned Reinhardt family, is a guitar virtuoso celebrated for his Latin Swing style deeply rooted in Sinti tradition. From his early years influenced by his father’s eclectic record collection to leading bands like I Gitanos and his own Latin Swing Project, Lulo’s journey has been marked by musical exploration and cultural outreach. With numerous albums, international collaborations, and ventures like documenting Sinti and Roma migration, Lulo continues to innovate. 

 


Alexandra Whittingham |
Alexandra Whittingham, a prodigious classical guitarist and composer, emerged from Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music with accolades and a distinctive style. Her debut album “My European Journey” not only topped charts but also spotlighted lesser-known composers of the nineteenth century, blending passion for music history with virtuosity. With a massive online following and performances worldwide, including prestigious venues and orchestral collaborations, Alexandra’s star continues to rise. 

 

Niwel Tsumbu | Niwel Tsumbu, a Congolese-born guitarist based in Ireland, defies musical boundaries with a fusion of jazz, classical, rock, and African rhythms. From his early exposure to diverse musical traditions to collaborations with global icons like Rhiannon Giddens and Grammy-winning performances, Niwel’s virtuosic guitar work and emotive compositions captivate audiences worldwide. His fluidity across genres and instruments solidifies his place as a musical trailblazer, promising unforgettable performances in this tour with the International Guitar Night.

 

Sönke Meinen | Sönke Meinen, an acclaimed guitarist, transcends conventions with his one-man guitar performances, blending folk, classical, pop, and jazz influences into a captivating musical journey. From fiery guitar displays to soul-stirring ballads, Sönke’s performances resonate with audiences worldwide, punctuated by humorous anecdotes and a relaxed stage presence. Renowned for his versatility and world-class skill, Sönke promises an exceptional concert experience that transcends musical boundaries and delights audiences of all backgrounds.
