Join us for FREE Community Events at ECA!
At Edmonds Center for the Arts, we believe that the arts belong to everyone, and we are proud to be part of the vibrant arts community in Edmonds and the greater Pacific Northwest. As a gathering place for all, we are committed to offering a variety of free programs and events that open our doors wider as we attempt to ensure that accessibility is not a barrier to experiencing live performance, creative expression, and cultural connection.
Our community events aim to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together, enriching our community with shared stories, music, and traditions from around the world. And by creating accessible opportunities to engage and connect, we hope to foster equity, inclusion, and belonging—because the transformative power of the arts is strongest when it’s available to everyone.
Orange Shirt Day
Tuesday, September 29, 2026 – In partnership with Edmonds School District Native Education, Edmonds Center for the Arts invites you to an Orange Shirt Day Community Workshop.
Each year on September 30, Orange Shirt Day commemorates the children and families whose identities and cultures were forever impacted by the trauma of Indian residential boarding schools. Participants wear orange to reflect, stand in solidarity, and remember that Every Child Matters. This day also serves as an opportunity to celebrate the traditions and resilience of Native communities.
Our intergenerational workshop on September 29 provides space for families to decorate orange shirts in reflection and solidarity. Shirts may be worn by students across the district on Orange Shirt Day and throughout the month of October to raise awareness and honor the resilience of Native communities.
Healing Yourself and the Collective:
including local Indigenous cultural practices
Thursday, October, 29, 2026 | 4:30 PM
Come slow down, relax, and contemplate as we embrace the transition to the inner world of our fall season.
Presented in partnership with Edmonds School District Native Education, this all ages gathering will be an opportunity to explore the nature of your heart, mind, and body with the support of community. As the world continues to shift with its many challenges, it is essential we come together for our mutually supportive healing, investigations, and inquiries.
In this shared container, we can continue to reveal the unshakeable strength and wisdom within ourselves and the collective. Together, we will engage in interactive healing group exercises including mindful movement, meditations, tea ceremony, group discussions, local Indigenous cultural practices, and more. Through this session we will come out with a clearer connection to our deepest selves and each other. We look forward to your co-creative participation!
